Current Research | Rhythmic Body

I am on a mission to bring inclusion and diversity to children, young people  and adults by engaging in movement of the African Diaspora, modern and contemporary dance techniques. Based in Lewisham, I work in paediatric Occupational Therapy and as a movement and well-being dance artist. 

 

My practice is a therapeutic cultural dance practice based on scientific evidence to be offered in community, schools, and hospitals. I am building on my research as a recipient of the “DYCP” grant from Arts Council England by structuring my practice as a pathway for D/deaf, disabled, non disabled individuals. It engages African movement of the diaspora, through holism and community. I utilize text, drumming, dance, film and breath to engage the body and senses in this movement practice.
